Juniper berry essential oil comes from fresh or dried berries and needles of theJuniperus osteosperma and J. scopulorus plant species. Known as a powerful detoxifier and immune system booster, juniper berry plants stem from Bulgaria and have a long history of naturally helping prevent both short- and long-term illnesses.

Juniper berries themselves are high in flavonoid and polyphenol antioxidants that have strong free radical scavenging abilities.

a-pinene, camphene, b-pinene, sabinene, myrcene, a-phellandrene, a-terpinene, y-terpinene, 1,4-cineole, b-phellandrene, p-cymene, terpinen-4-ol, bornyl acetate, cayophyllene and trace amounts of limonene, camphor, linalool, linalyl acetate, borneol and nerol. 

ESSENTIAL OIL INFORMATION

Juniper essential oil is extracted from Juniperus communis, of the Cupressaceae family. It is used for treating rheumatism, arthritis and gout, as well as cellulite, acne, dermatitis, blocked pores, psoriasis and weeping eczemas. 

OIL PROPERTIES

It has a fresh, clear but slightly woody aroma, and is a pale oil with a watery viscosity. 

USES

It can help calm the nerves, relieves anxiety, nervous tension and mental exhaustion. It is helpful when the prostate gland is enlarged and is used to help with the inability to pass urine, in cases of cystitis and kidney stones. It is also helpful for cellulite and fluid retention. Juniper oil generally helps with the digestive system, particularly in cases of obesity, over-indulgence of food and premenstrual bloating.
